As we move forward into 2009 into ever more uncertain times, we are delighted to provide details on the first in a new series of web conferences called 'INSIGHT'. INSIGHT will run on a monthly basis to provide focused, to the point insights and advice in just 30 minutes on issues that will help your organization rise to the challenges, as well as to the opportunities the new economic paradigm brings. Many of the topics covered will be based on the groundbreaking research of LEF and shed light on how organizations can, and are, responding to the current environment.
The speed and severity of the economic downspin has caught all but the most prescient of businesses off-guard, and most firms are now rushing to prepare for whatever lies ahead. Over the last few months, the Leading Edge Forum has been in close contact with its global client base, trying to understand the scope and pace of these changes at an individual firm level.
In this, the first of the INSIGHT Series, David Moschella will take an historical look at how IT strategy, management and spending has been altered during previous economic recessions. He will then describe IT's role in the current market downturn, and the sector-wide changes that are likely to emerge. Most importantly, he will discuss how these changes are playing out by industry and for individual firms, and their likely impact on longer term IT issues such as innovation, sourcing, cloud computing, and the management of ever increasing business/IT complexity.
