Jürgen Weigand is Professor of Economics and Director of the Institute for Industrial Organization at the WHU Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management in Vallendar, Germany’s most prestigious private business school.
Professor Weigand's primary research interests are the organization of firms and industries, its impact on the workings of imperfectly competitive markets, and its policy implications.
He has conducted studies of the relationship between market structure and innovation, the effects of corporate governance on firm performance, corporate finance and R&D, the impact of competition on the stability of the financial sector, the effects of market growth on horizontal concentration, among others.
He has been academic advisor to many consulting projects, both in the public and private sector.
